Newsbrief: U.S. tech giant Intel has added EA chief exec Andrew Wilson to its board of directors, expanding the board to 12 members.

Intel brought in Wilson because of his success in transitioning EA from an "offline packaged goods company to a leader in online digital services."

"His experience leading and growing a global, technology-driven company, Andrew possesses a combination of creativity and business acumen that will further strengthen Intel’s board," added Intel chairman, Andy Bryant.

Wilson joined EA back in 2000, and has served as the publisher's CEO and director since September 2013.

During his tenure, EA has witnessed digital games become a major revenue driver. The firm has also launched EA Access, a subscription-based digital games platform that lets users play selected titles, sometimes ahead of launch.
