The Brazil Game Show, to be held later this year in October, has debuted its Latin America-specific Games Festival awards, and is calling for submissions from local developers, with a deadline of August 31. The organizers are looking to highlight and promote the best games developed in Latin America, with nearly $35,000 in prizes to be given out at the awards ceremony. There are 10 categories in total, including best mobile game, best social game, game of the year, and best independent game, and winners will receive press, cash prizes and passes to the Game Developers Conference in California. The deadline for submissions is August 31, with a fee of R$100 ($63.90) necessary for each game submitted. Finalists will then be announced on September 15. The Brazil Game Show is set to take place from October 5-9 at the SulAmerica Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro. The awards ceremony will be held on October 7, during which the winners will be announced. Those developers looking to submit their games can do so at the official Brazil Game Show website.
