Newsbrief: Stockholm, Sweden-based Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios recently bolstered its ranks by hiring dozens of new employees for its recently opened New York studio. The exact number of new hires was not disclosed, but Avalanche said this latest hiring round pushed the company's total head count past 170, with many of the new staff hailing from established studios such as Insomniac Games, BioWare, Volition, Behtesda, and more. Avalanche says it hopes to hire more than 50 additional employees by the end of this year. Avalanche's New York team is currently working on a new multiplatform project codenamed "Project Mamba," which is planned to launch in 2014.
