Resistance developer Insomniac Games today revealed Outernauts, its first Facebook-bound title, will launch in the summer and be published by Electronic Arts. Currently in closed beta, the Facebook title is an adventure role-playing game that will see players capturing and training alien beasts, with asynchronous multiplayer battling and a large galaxy to explore. It's the first social gaming title from Insomniac, as the company looks to "reach an entirely different audience of gamers through Facebook," explained Ted Price, the company's founder. The move marks the first title announced from the studio since it said earlier this year that it will not be continuing on with its Resistance series. Insomniac is also focusing its efforts on Overstrike, a four-player co-op shooter for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which is also set to be published by Electronic Arts.
