Gears of War 3 players will be able to purchase a "Season Pass" of the game's first four DLC packs for 2400MSP ($30), Microsoft announced today, a 33 percent discount from purchasing the content individually. The Season Pass will be available for purchase upon the game's release September 20, granting players access to the game's DLC, which will start becoming available in November. Season Pass purchasers will also get exclusive access to an exclusive "Liquid Metal Weapon Set," the company said. Discounted pre-purchase DLC bundles have become increasingly popular in recent months, with a similar Season Pass for Warner Bros.' Mortal Kombat reboot and the "Rockstar Pass" for L.A. Noire. Microsoft also announced that Gaears of War 3 has now attracted over 1.3 million pre-orders, roughly matching the number of players who participated in the game's popular beta test earlier this year. Gears of War 2 saw sales of over 2 million copies in its first weekend on sale in 2008. The first two games in the franchise have combined for over 11 million sales to date.
