Newsbrief: A team of developers from the Canary Islands has secured $350,000 in funding for a new free-to-play casual game, while bringing on an industry veteran as its new president. Promineo Studios, based in Tenerife, Spain, is building Feed My Alien, an animation-inspired match-3 game for a younger audience. The studio's CEO Isidro Quintana noted that this investment means "a team from a seemingly-remote place like the Canary Islands can compete on the world's digital entertainment stage." And David Bergantino (pictured), previously vice president and produce at Nickelodeon Games, THQ, Disney Interactive and BBC Worldwide, has joined the team as its new president.
