Phil Goetz ([email protected]) has been coding since polyester was in style. He got his Ph.D. in computer science and a lot of worthless stock options in the nineties, when he coded autonomous characters for Zoesis, and the first version of Asteroids(TM) for X-Windows. Since then he's worked a variety of government contracts, including co-developing the Multi-Agent Generic Architecture for Cognition for DARPA for use in military simulations. He is currently working on a text-understanding system for NIH, and studying bioinformatics at GMU.
