The Mobile Applications Certificate Program at UCSD Extension, Digital Arts Center is an advanced training program for smartphone application enthusiasts and industry professionals seeking opportunities to expand their design, programming and software development skills into the world of mobile application development. The mobile application industry offers extensive opportunities for developers.

The mobile application development certificate program is designed to provide students comprehensive training in programming, interface design and interaction design.  Students produce a complete mobile application for mobile devices including iOS and Android based smartphones.

The educational experience is enhanced by the environment of professional training in which students work directly with their instructors (practicing mobile application developers) to conceive individual and group concepts for mobile applications and execute the prototypes in a team-based or individual setting.

Mobile applications have infiltrated virtually every area of our lives both personally and professionally. Today's 3 billion mobile phone users outnumber both internet users and land-line owners. Mobile applications range from giving access to a specific database to complete web access.  Mobile applications help us streamline and organize our lives with a touch of a screen.
