We have made some lengthy strides since the last development journal. The team here has been putting in some serious work in order to get the game in a playable state for everyone to enjoy. Once again, we are aiming for a few levels and about 4 hours of gameplay so we’re trying to do our best to deliver the most entertaining 4 hours possible. First up, we have finished creating a short teaser trailer for the game. Feel free to watch it here!

Alpha Testing

And with that, we would like to invite everyone reading this to join in on the alpha testing phase of Ascendance. It’s still in a rough state, but definitely playable and we will welcome all feedback and bug reports through our website or through the Unreal forums. You can download the game through our website, or through the below link.

Level Development

This week our artists have been continuing to work hard on the levels, pushing hard towards completion. Within the Warehouse level, they’ve continued to import textures and update their blueprints in order to fit the lighting and appear more realistic. We are always trying to improve on the style to ensure the most compelling atmosphere that we can achieve. The Aquifer levels also received updated textures and even some newly modeled railings.

My personal favorite level, the Clone Lab, has also edged closer to completion. The layout has been finalized and assets have finished being placed around the levels. The overall lighting for the level has also reached a finished state. We are very excited to show the world what we’ve been working on this semester and hope you all will enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

UAT Greenlight Celebration

The University of Advancing Technology will be hosting a Greenlight Celebration event on campus on August 21, 2015 at 6:00pm MST. This event is being held to acknowledge all of the students who are participating in the UAT Game studios by offering everyone the opportunity to showcase their games. Ascendance will be there along with the other game projects: The Great War, Knick Knax, Mirrored, and Oxygen. If you live close to Tempe, AZ, we would love to have you join the event and see what we, and all of the other students, have been working on for the past few months. If you’d like to attend, please RSVP through the UAT Game Studios Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1459751487661772/ (Seating is limited!)

We look forward to finishing up Ascendance with the help of all of you, so again, please try out the game and give feedback on what we can do to fix and improve the game. The Ascendance Team thanks you!
