Take-Two Opens New Marin 2K Studio

Take-Two has announced the formation of 2K Marin, a new development studio under its 2K publishing label to be based in Novato, California, and the company says it will develop original intellectual property and co-develop products with 2K's other studios

Take-Two has announced the formation of 2K Marin, a new development studio under its 2K publishing label established to develop original intellectual property and co-develop products with 2K's other studios globally. 2K currently has development studios in Asia, Europe, Australia and North America, including the recently renamed 2K Boston, the Bioshock developer formerly known as Irrational Games. The publisher has recently announced that former Rockstar Games COO and former Capcom European managing director Gary Dale would step into the role of the company's executive vice president, and said he would focus on new online and casual initiatives as well as pushing further into Asia and Latin America. Said 2K president Christoph Hartmann, "We’re focused on continuing to bring new brands and cutting-edge gameplay to market with the creation of the 2K Marin studio. 2K Marin will build upon our success in creating and leveraging AAA franchises."
