StarForce Technologies has launched StarForce Professional 2.0, a copy protection system for games distributed on CD. StarForce Professional does not allow someone to launch a program if the CD has been copied by programs like CloneCD, CDRWin, or BlindWhite, nor by CD emulators like Daemon Tools or Virtual CD-ROM. The company says regardless of how the CD is copied, the system will detect if the copy is illegal, without altering the physical structure of discs. Pricing information was not revealed.
