PlayStation 3 made a strong showing on NPD's top 20 U.S. retail software sales charts for March, provided to Gamasutra the day after initial results, as seven PS3 games including God of War III and Heavy Rain made the list. By comparison, the Nintendo Wii had five games that made the list, while Xbox 360 and DS each had four games. As reported yesterday, the PS3-exclusive God of War III was the top-selling SKU with 1.1 million units sold. Other PS3 titles that made the top 20 chart (some multiplatform) were Sony's MLB 10: The Show, God of War Collection and Heavy Rain, Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII, Electronic Arts' Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. While March saw seven PS3 titles in the top 20, the console had six SKUs on the chart in February and five in January. This is the fourth month for God of War Collection to make the top 20, and the game has sold over 650,000 units in the U.S. since its November launch, according to NPD. Sony and Quantic Dream's PS3-exclusive thriller Heavy Rain, released on February 23, has sold over 300,000 units in the U.S. Conspicuously missing from the top 20 is Take-Two's BioShock 2. The Xbox 360 version was the top-seller in February, and the PS3 version was number 12. PS3 may have been the console with the most games in the top 20 in March, but Nintendo was the publisher with the most games on the top 20 with eight titles. Sony followed with four while Square Enix, EA and Activision had two games each. Take-Two secured one spot, as did Ubisoft, with its strong-selling Wii music game Just Dance:
