Phoenix Tools has rolled out Origami 2.0, an high end set of modules and utilities for Softimage|3D that allows the user to extract or reconstruct the lost 3D information from a set of photographs or a motion sequence. Phoenix Tools says the new Origami 2.0 is faster and easier, and gives the user a complete set of tools for all the steps that constitute the complex process of Camera Tracking and 3D reconstruction. Origami 2.0 is integrated in the 3D authoring environment of Softimage|3D, which means that the user can visualize and use the results immediately. Origami 2.0 delivers powerful improvements to all the operative modules: PT_2DTracker, which permits users to track a number of target points in a picture sequence, PT_3DcameraTracking, which allows users to extract camera animation and settings from a sequence of pictures and PT_3DsceneReconstruction, which generates a textured polygonal mesh in the 3D space, extracting from a motion sequence the original 3D position of the captured object. An Origami 2.0 permanent license prices out at $2000, while an EZ-Tools 12 month subscription costs $500.
