Nintendo Insists on Dolphin for 2000

Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendo's president, maintained in an interview with Yomiuri Shimbun that the next generation Dolphin console will ship in 2000 and will be priced significantly below Sony's Playstation 2. "We would like to release the Dolphin closer to the PS2," said Yamauchi about Dolphin's release date, "we're aiming for the Christmas 2000 shopping season, I don't think the time difference is that big of a handicap." Of the Playstation 2 expected $390 price tag, he said, "Dolphin will not be that expensive."
