Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Coming on the heels of its European Xbox price cut, Microsoft Chief Financial Officer John Connors today said the company had cut its sales estimates for the new console.
The company now believes it will ship 3.5 to 4 million units by the end of June, down from the company's earlier goal of selling 4.5 to 6 million units. The lower numbers reflect slower-than-expected sales in Europe and Japan. In an interview, Conners said that the revised estimate "...reflects the ongoing weakness in Japan and accounts for many weeks of sales opportunities lost in Europe while we were at the higher price." Connors said the company's goal is to sell 9 to 11 million consoles by the end of June 2003.
