Officials from U.S. publisher LucasArts have announced the release of Lego Indiana Jones: The Video Game, for release on unspecified multiformat consoles next summer. The game is to be developed by British studio TT Games (aka Traveller’s Tales), creators of the original Lego Star Wars games. Following the template of the highly successful Lego Star Wars games the new title will include recreations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There is no indication at this time that the game will tie-in in to the currently under production new movie. Following the success of the Star Wars games, a number of new Lego related projects and tie-ins were suggested by fans, with a Batman game being confirmed in March – although no footage has yet been seen of that game. A short CGI and gameplay trailer of Lego Indiana Jones game has been unveiled at the LucasArts website, showing a similar style of gameplay to the Star Wars games but apparently lacking the popular co-operative mode. Said LucasArts president Jim Ward, "In addition to providing the quality bonding time inspired by any good family game, Lego Indiana Jones delivers something a little different for everyone. Parents will enjoy the humorous take on some of their favorite movies, and their kids get some rousing action/adventure gameplay that may also introduce them to Indy's original adventures for the first time."
