Edutainment firm Kaibridge Games has announced the availability of a new PC game titled Bone Monkeys vs. Dinosaurs, which is aimed at educating children about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. According to Kaibridge officials, Bone Monkeys vs. Dinosaurs humorously matches authentically rendered, digitally accurate to-scale dinosaurs against monkeys who are out to steal the bones of unsuspecting dinosaurs. Players use a variety of items to thwart the monkeys, as well as answer questions about dinosaurs in order to progress through the game. Officials also note that the questions posed in Kaibridge’s new title represent the most current thinking in paleontology, but are offered with a twist of humor, particularly the incorrect answers, thus offering players an educational experience with a healthy dose of fun as well. Kaibridge uses propriety technology in the creation of its edutainment titles in order to create authentic and engaging digital animals. Kaibridge products include video games and interactives for museums and media companies. The company is located in Eugene, Oregon and is a spinout of the University of Oregon’s Computer and Information Science Department. “Kids were having so much fun with the interactive software we built for the American Museum of Natural History,” says Dan Mayhew, president and CEO, Kaibridge, “that we decided to build a game that kids could play at home.”
