Xoreax Software has announced the release of IncrediBuild v2.40. IncrediBuild speeds up Visual Studio builds by distributing C/C++ compilation tasks across machines in the local network. The latest version features support for Xbox 360 builds and includes an optimized file caching mechanism that pushes the average cut-down in build time to 90%. Version 2.40 also features a new Virtual Environment core that allows 10%-20% faster builds and increased stability. Various issues related to environments with different operating systems, Managed Code builds and random "hanging" compilation bars are now eliminated. IncrediBuild now works on non-administrator accounts. AMD Processor speeds are now correctly evaluated, and file cache sizes higher than 1Gb can now be specified. In addition, the team has fixed a bug that sometimes caused the "Automatic compiler termination" option to miscalculate timeouts. More information, as well as a 30-day evaluation version is available at Incredibuild's website.
