Veteran Spore and Sims creator Will Wright will give a presentation at SIGGRAPH 2009, event organizers announced today. Wright first gained acclaim for city-builder SimCity, which led to a lifetime total of 58 million games sold in the complete Sims franchise. At SIGGRAPH, he will speak on the expanding role of game development in influencing other industries. "His selection to give a keynote presentation this year is a perfect fit as SIGGRAPH 2009 integrates gaming as an expanded focus of the conference," enthuses conference chair Ronen Barzel. SIGGRAPH, slated for August 4-6 in New Orleans, expects around 20,000 computer graphics and interactive technology professionals to attend its three-day exhibition of products and services from the computer graphics and interactive space. Interested parties can find more information on the event at the official SIGGRAPH site.
