GameTap Adds Konami Titles To PC Game Library

Turner Broadcasting System has announced that it has signed a deal with Konami to bring a number of the company's titles to its GameTap subscription PC 'all you can eat' gaming service, which currently offers over 500 licensed video games for download and play on demand. Among the new offerings are Frogger, Contra Hard Corps, and the first three installments of Castlevania, as well as Castlevania: Bloodlines, which was originally released for the Sega Genesis in 1994. While it is unknown exactly which titles will make up the entirety of what Konami will offer on the service, GameTap officials did note that the deal “spans decades of the successful publisher’s celebrated catalog.” “With Konami on board with some of its most vibrant and evolving franchises, we continue to strengthen our position as the leader in the digital distribution of games,” said GameTap Senior Vice President and General Manager Stuart Snyder. “GameTap has the most celebrated titles from the very best publishers, along with exclusive games and GameTap TV, providing hours of entertainment and great value for everyone from hardcore to casual gamers.” This follows news from earlier this month, when officials announced several new features for the GameTap service, including multiplayer gameplay, instant messaging, and multiple streaming animation series on GameTap TV, including exclusive titles.
