ELSPA, the trade body for the UK computer and video game industry, has announced the appointment of a new Chairman of its board, in the form of industry veteran Andy Payne, head of UK budget game publisher Mastertronic and flight simulator specialist firm Just Flight. Payne was voted in as Chairman at the Annual General Meeting this week, replacing retiring Chairman Scott Dodkins, who was recently appointed European managing director at Eidos. ELSPA also confirmed David Yarnton, Nintendo, as vice-chairman, and welcomed Mike Hayes of Sega and Serhad Koro of Take-Two Interactive to the board. Roger Bennett, director general of ELSPA, commented: "Scott has been an enthusiastic and dedicated chairman for the past two years. He has helped considerably in seeing ELSPA through a period of change and media furore and we wish to extend our thanks for his invaluable contribution. Andy will, we believe, continue this excellent work and help to lead ELSPA forward into a new era." The full ELSPA board for 2005/2006 comprises: Chairman: Andy Payne, Mastertronic; Vice-Chairman: David Yarnton, Nintendo; Board Members: Scott Dodkins, Eidos; Kevin Jowatt, Sony Computer Entertainment; Adam Roberts, Vivendi Universal Games; Mike Hayes, Sega; Serhad Koro, Take 2 Interactive; Paul Jackson, Electronic Arts; Rob Cooper, Ubisoft.
