GameCareerGuide.com has posted the latest interactive design challenge for its readers of students and aspiring game developers. The task this week is to develop the next great video game hero. Readers discuss their creations on the site’s forum, and professional game developers are invited to participate, provide feedback, and give advice. The only real hard and fast rules for this challenge are: “The hero has to kick ass and be hot! The hero is someone you both want to be and be with. Players idolize the hero. The hero must be a human or human-like figure.” The game for which the hero is being created will be an action-adventure console title, and the game will be designed around our new hero. In other words, the hero will come before the game. See the complete assignment on GameCareerGuide.com for details on how to submit your answer. The top three ideas will be featured on the site the week of August 18, 2008. GameCareerGuide.com is Gamasutra's sister site dedicated to educating and fostering creativity among future game developers.
