I would like to inform you that I have been working on a Game design document for a online MMORPG made for PC. This game is set in the 3d world of Nao, and has a rich storyboard. Though it's not just the story that makes this game unique, it's the unique syle of gameplay that has not been seen in any other game yet.

I have had to keep this game a big secret from even my closest friends and family. I have been working on this project now for over a year. What I have here are multiple systems for gameplay that are versatile enough to use in mutiple games. These systems have been combined in my GDD to create a blueprint for a game that could stand firmly as a flagship game title that can be expanded upon for years. I have a unique marketing model that offers a very promising financial future for the development of this game.

My background:

Other then being a gamer, I haven't had much experience in the gaming industry. Though after taking a few years off from gaming I started wanting to play games again. I was hoping to see some new great game on the market. The last online games I had played was EverquestII, and EveOnline. I had an idea of the type of game I wanted to play, and wondered if there was anything close to it. I was surprised when I couldn't find anything like it. Then that idea started to shape into something bigger, that ultimate game that I had always wanted to play. I started writing down details of this new game idea. I spent 48 hours straight writing down details from this big game idea and thinking about the feasibility of each aspect. After the 48 hours was finished I had a pretty well thought game concept.

From there I knew I needed to into the industry. At the time I was living in China, and working as a teacher. I took some time off my job to go out and find design companies, search for gaming companies in China. I had a chance to visit some incubators and scope out a few gaming companies . At this stage I was just trying to do research on how much a demo would cost, and was trying to network to build a potential team. Without disclosing any information about the game itself, I was able to explore the industry and meet professionals whose advice led me to understand the importance of the GDD (game design document). I was give a good template to use as a reference to how to organize my GDD. This worked out way better then my first method. I was using powerpoints to list and describe every aspect of the game.

Where I stand now, I'm still in China and I'm fleshing out my game design document. I recently attended the GDC in Shanghai. These conferences are a great way to network, and learn more about the industry. The ideal person I could meet would be someone who currently has a team of programmers/designers and a good CFO who can bag the budget we need for a game of this size. Yeah I may be dreaming. Your about to find out that I'm pretty good at dreaming, because your going to love the game I just dreamed up.
