Catching Up Part 3: Nintendo 64

Analysis: Pure Pwnage. The first console I heard about that was going full THREE DEE. I'm sure the first Playstation was already out, but it wasn't quite as kid friendly.

The controller was very interesting now. I don't think any other system has even tried anything as cool as three handles since the N64. Hell, rare would be the game that used all three for various purposes, but still was cool to have the nice joystick with option for D-pad.

The games.... oh the games! Too many to list, since I was at the age at this point where I was consuming content like an addict, not too mention starting to play with friends, at their homes, and stuff. Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Goldeneye 007, Ocarina of Time, yadda blah we know all the rest. But I did seriously love Banjo Kazooie. I heard some people didn't like it, well those people can eat a rotten egg and die.

At this point in the console wars, you would be a fool to think that Nintendo wasn't stomping everyone into the ground.

What I Learned: Adding a dimension to the game world makes things twice as good, and opens possibility to much more improvement. Adding relatively redundent control schemes might be great for different gameplay or play styles, but it shouldn't stretch the hand or controller out. Nintendo hit its head on the roof of its potential.... but then I haven't gotten a Wii yet, so I might be talking out my ass. Jim Carrey style.
