Back in 1999, I launched the first Tribes 1 tournaments. Some of these tournaments were major tournaments and regular tournaments. I thought I would share the graphics and prize listings to show you the tournaments from back then. You can compare the times.

I owned and operated the Clan World Network. I was an affiliate of Tribeplayers.com and partner of WON.net. Dynamix was the creator of Tribes 1. I hosted to major tournaments for Tribes. This is the first one I did with D-Link.

The game of Starsiege: Tribes was special due to the special game modes along with the vast open world team based game play. Tribes 1 was one of the first games to be sold on the retail level that did not offer a single player component. Starsiege Tribes was also had a few popular mods such as the Renegades Mod.

Here is some trophies from a CWT 5v5 tournament. Tournaments were smaller to keep lag low back when these tournaments occurred.  You can view other Tribes Trophies here.

The Tribes franchise has gone on to make a few more iterations for its passionate fans. HiRez Studios currently owns the IP of the entire Tribes Universe and is bringing one of the ground breaking games back to life. The new version of Tribes is called Tribes: Ascend.

HiRez Studios seems to be doing a great job with Tribes:Ascend.  Given its proven track record with Global Agenda. I am sure the game is going to be a huge hit. I hope its popular for the e-sports crowd as well.

For further information on Tribes:Ascend you can check out http://www.hirezstudios.com/hirezwp/

What do you think about the old Tribes 1 game? Are you ready for Tribes: Ascend?
