I'm sitting in a Starbucks waiting for the Supreme Court to open so that I can report for jury duty, and in a moment of late 90's early 2000 nostalgia I thought I'd blog in a cafe and be seen doing it.

I'm my last entry I had set up a couple of links, the second of which had a list of article about things to consider as you prepare to travel down the start up road. I also said that this is the first set of hurtles that had to be overcome. Why? Because what these articles are asking you to do is to really solidify the idea of what you want to do.

"I want to make video games." This just doesn't seem like a sufficient answer. So hurtle one, what do I really want to do? Well I want to make video games and more importantly I want to be the driving force behind it. I want them to be mine.

Pause. Have to report for Jury Duty.

Jury Duty was quite the experience, not only is gamasutra blocked as an unsecured site, my tablet didn't save my draft of the mission statement I was working on.

So what I had planned on going over yesterday was the executive summary and the company description

To me, the executive summary and the company description are really the same thing, having though about it for a while in and out of school, I would always get hung up by the sense that I needed some uber-corporate lingo infused statement that would please old time investor. They would be happy and throw gobs of money at me.

The reality is that you can get all that once you have a lawyer going, for right now my company description and executive summary reads more like an impassioned speech to the masses. Honestly that is where I want it. I'll post a link to it once the website and registration is done.

The next part which seems daunting is the market analysis. While there are probably volumes written on the subject, the feeling that I should have a degree in economics ready ... lets see what google research turns up...

P.s.

I am not really being as eloquent as I should be on here, just really jotting things down for my imaginary audience... however if there are any questions on constructive comments let me know .
