Sony acquires God of War support studio Valkyrie Entertainment

Now Valkyrie can guide other Sony studios into the halls of Valhalla.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is purchasing Valkyrie Entertainment, a Seattle-based production support studio that's been doing co-development services for companies like Riot Games, 343 Industries, and Sony Santa Monica since 2002.

Some of the company's credits include League of LegendsMiddle-earth: Shadow of War, and the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok.

PlayStation Studio head Herman Hulst tweeted that "the studio will be making invaluable contributions to key PlayStation Studios franchises."

Sony has spent 2021 buying up game studios big and small, including Returnal developer HousemarqueBluepoint Games, and VR developer Firesprite.
