Hazelight Studios' co-op adventure It Takes Two has topped 7 million sales in well under two years. The title launched on March 26, 2021, and had sold over 5 million copies as of February this year.

It has now sold another 2 million units since then, with Hazelight announced the latest sales milestone on social media.

It Takes Two has achieved both commercial and critical success since launching last year, taking home the Game of the Year prize at the 2022 DICE Awards and grabbing multiple BAFTA Games Awards.

Earlier this year, Variety revealed that It Takes Two is also set to be adapted for film or television, with production company DJ2 Entertainment agreeing to bring the popular title to audiences beyond the games industry.

"Creating the world and story in It Takes Two was so much fun for me and the team," said Hazelight founder and creative director, Josef Fares, commenting on the news in February.

"Since it has a strong narrative with many crazy characters and just as crazy co-op action moments, the potential is huge for a great adaption to film or television."
