Fledgling studio Arctic7 has opened a new development studio in Montenegro.

The Austin-based company broke cover earlier this year after raising $2 million in funding to enable tech development and international expansion.

Arctic7 is currently working on an unannounced project and said its new Montenegro studio will "focus on game development and other projects."

In the long-term, Arctic7 hopes to deliver "ongoing technical creative solutions within the games industry," and claims its latest opening combined with the recent funding round will help it achieve that goal.

The Montenegro studio currently houses 35 employees but hopes to expand with an additional 40 new hires by the end of 2022. The team is led by studio head and former Sperasoft production director Kedhrin Gonzalez.
