Andy Gavin is Naughty Dog's co-owner and lead programmer. A native of Virginia, he has a B.A. in Neuroscience from Haverford College and an S.M. in Computer Science from MIT. As a member of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT, he designed and implemented a vision system for one of NASA's Mars rovers. In addition to writing much of the C and LISP code in all three Crash Bandicoot Games, Andy created a new programming language called GOOL (Game Oriented Object LISP), designed to allow very rapid prototyping of the widely varying behaviors Crash's creatures and objects exhibit.
