Most GDC speakers talk about making games, but indie developers Mattia Traverso and Alan Zucconi actually got a friend in the room to make a game during their talk at the GDC Europe 2014 Independent Games Summit. While he raced to finish a build, the pair spoke at length about their experiences turning game jam games developed under similar stresses into commercially-viable products like 0RBITALIS and Fru. They took pains to highlight the value of brief, holistic design goals and cautioned their fellow game makers against the hidden dangers of approaching game development as an extended prototyping process. It's an insightful, brief talk that's worth watching -- if only to see what kind of game a single indie developer can whip up during a 26-minute GDC Europe session.
