As the game industry evolves to embrace titles with lengthy lifespans, developers have to answer a pressing question: how do you make an old game feel like new?

At GDC Next 2014, Halfbrick's chief product officer Ramine Darabiha tackled the question in a talk about, among other things, the studio's efforts to revitalize Age of Zombies.

It's a good talk, as Darabiha explains his process and philosophy of the reboot and how new or existing games companies can continue to realize the full potential of a game by coupling the "Games as a Service" development model with disruptive updates.

We've taken the liberty of embedding the video of "Games as a Service: Rebooting a 4-Year-Old Game to the Top of the Charts" above, but you can also watch it here for free on the GDC Vault.
