(London, UK) - November 13, 2023 – Omeda Studios, a community-driven studio, today announced that its Playstation Closed Beta for Predecessor, a third-person action MOBA, will start December 5, 2023. Born from Paragon, originally developed by Epic Games, Predecessor has been thriving in Early Access on PC for almost a year. During this Closed Beta, Playstation players will have the opportunity to get a taste of this next-generation MOBA, the first of its kind on Unreal Engine 5.

What is Predecessor?

Teams of five join arms in battle as they fight for glory on the battlefield against enemy heroes on a traditional three-lane map featuring an interactive jungle, epic monsters and more. In a match, 10 players are divided into two teams with each player controlling their chosen hero. Each hero has their own unique abilities and design, meaning there’s a hero to match everyone’s style of play. Heroes complete objectives to collect gold like killing minions, downing towers or annihilating enemy heroes. As a hero collects more gold, they can buy items from the shop that influence their heroes in interesting ways - allowing them to teleport to new locations, go invisible, freeze time and more. Items also allow a hero to get more powerful (strength, attack speed, health and various other attributes). Unlike most MOBAs, Predecessor puts you into the heart of the action. The third-person perspective fully immerses players into the game as enemies appear from shadow walls, over ledges or behind them.

What to expect during this Closed Beta?

During the PlayStation Closed Beta, players will have the choice between over 30 different Heroes with their distinctive characteristics and roles. Thanks to cross-platform capabilities, PlayStation Closed Beta players will be teamed with PC players, increasing match-making downtime and joining a passionate community of players.

About Omeda Studios

Founded in 2020 by one of Epic Games’ Paragon's most notorious players and now CEO of the studio, Robbie Singh, Omeda Studios was created to develop Predecessor, a truly different MOBA experience that will transcend fans and bring the game to Playstation players. Robbie and the Omeda team gathered all of the Paragon assets and started to build its own version of the game with its own balance and characters but with a higher goal. Indeed, the story of Omeda Studios is outstanding as Robbie decided to quit his career as a content creator to pursue his belief, and along the way, persuade investors to follow him by investing $22.2 million to develop the game. Currently in Early Access on Steam, the game has already gathered over 100,000 signups and thousands of positive reviews.  For more information, visit https://omedastudios.com/, X, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Discord.
