Airborn Studios | Berlin - Aug 11, 2022 Airborn Studios GmbH today released a new visual showcase: Airborn. It marks the return to a world that is at the heart of the company and gave it its name. Since 2006, the team had regularly built and iterated on the IP, even managing to score an award in the Make Something Unreal contest by Epic Games with an earlier version. After letting the project rest for over 7 years, Airborn Studios now decided to revisit it with a fresh approach, new ideas and the latest technology available to push stylized game art - the result of which is a showcase done with Unreal Engine 5.

“It’s been a joy to tread on new ground while also staying true to the core pillars of world building we had done in the past. We’re looking forward to seeing what our friends and peers in the game art community have to say about the result!”, notes Steffen Unger, co-founder of Airborn Studios.

The music was composed by Ian Dorsch https://www.iandorsch.com) while SkewSound (https://skewsound.com) took care of the sound design. Rigging and animation work were done by Funkeyz Animation Studio (https://www.funkeyzanimation.com). The development of the prototype was supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport & Digital Infrastructure.
