100th Release Celebrations for Super Rare Games

Super Rare Games | We're celebrating our 100th Nintendo Switch release with two wholesome indie favourites, Lil Gator Game on Nintendo Switch™ and A Short Hike on PS4 - both out next week!  

It's hard to believe that we had our #1 release just over 5 years ago and that we're now celebrating our #100th Nintendo Switch™ release. It's been amazing to work with so many Indie developers and build a fantastic community of fans.  We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us on our journey, we hope it will continue being a great adventure!

To celebrate, we're delighted to be working with Playtonic Games to bring you Lil Gator Game for our 100th release, releasing on Nintendo Switch™ in a physical format for the very first time! Join us for island adventures with this adorable game, full of quests and characters who soon become friends! A total of 4000 copies will be available, split between three exciting formats - 2000 standard editions, 1000 Collector's editions and 1000 steelbook editions. 

The fun doesn't stop there! We're also bringing back last year's Nintendo Switch™ favourite, A Short Hike for PlayStation. Chill out whilst you hike, climb and soar through Hawk Peak Provincial Park, this time in a physical PS4 format for the very first time. A total of 1000 PS4 games will be available - complete with disc, fold out map, exclusive sleeve and sticker with every copy.

The Island is your playground ⛰

For this special release, a total of 4,000 Nintendo Switch™ copies of Lil Gator Game are being made, choose between 3 exciting formats:

🐸 Standard Editions - releasing with all the current content on it's physical cartridge, a full colour manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker and trading cards.

 🧲  Steelbook Editions - all the content of the Standard Edition, plus a steelbook case that comes complete with a Lil Gator character magnet so you can create your own scene on your steelbook case, plus a sleeve and postcard. 

🖍 Collector's Editions - with wonderfully bespoke art and content this includes the Standard Edition game, steelbook case, 4 steelbook character magnets, colour-me-in story book, pack of 6 crayons, 4 silicone wristbands, enamel pin badge, full set of trading cards, Lil Gator sticker, steelbook slip case and postcard. 

📣 As it's our 100th release, we will be adding 300 special individual gold foil cards across these editions, will you be the lucky recipient of the super rare card?!

After the amazing success of the physical Nintendo Switch™ release last year, we're bringing back A Short Hike, this time in a physical PlayStation 4 format. So, grab your hiking gear and join us for a climb and soar through the peaceful mountainside landscapes of Hawk Peak Provincial Park, maybe we'll even take a swim by the Lakeshore!

1000 PS4 copies available - complete with disc, fold out map, our exclusive sleeve and sticker with every copy. 

Games will be available to ship in December.

ABOUT LIL GATOR GAME
  ⛰ Island is your Playground... There's a buddy atop every hill in this open-world, movement-focused adventure and they all seem to need help! Bop cardboard baddies, brave serene hills and forests, and scale sheer rocks that only a kid would dare!

 🦊 Joyful Exploration... Explore a lovingly crafted island full to the brim with areas to discover, friends to make and joy to be had. Each are of the island brings unique quests and characters to meet. Glide through the mountain tops and drop in on the Theatre Troupe kids, swing your stick sword through the forest with the Prep schoolers or find the ‘Cool Kids’ down in the Creaklands. ⛰ Make Friends…The world is big when you’re a lil gator... Good thing it’s also full of friends! Make new friends and invite them to play in the island's playground. Each new friend you make will add to your adventure, but making new friends isn’t always easy, You might have to complete a quest or two!
🖍 Crafty Customization…Collect arts & crafts supplies all over the island! Use them to make yourself all kinds of goodies and bring the playground to life! Craft new abilities - use your ragdoll teddy to ragdoll lil gator from mountaintop to the valleys below! Skim pebbles into hard-to-reach cardboard baddies!
🐸 Bop Baddies…A no-pressure adventure game! Lil Gator game focuses on adventure and play, don't let a health bar hold you back from reaching your goal!

ABOUT A SHORT HIKE
  Set off as Claire and prepare to hike, climb, and soar through the peaceful mountainside landscapes of Hawk Peak Provincial Park. Explore the backcountry, meet other hikers, discover hidden treasures, and immerse yourself in the beautiful world around you in this relaxing and cute adventure game.

🐦 Open world exploration... Explore the island any way you like. Choose your own path to follow and see where it leads you. You never know what you might stumble into!

🎒 Pace yourself... Hike at your own pace — there’s no need to rush to the summit! Take your time fishing along the river banks or swimming by the lakeshore.

🗺️ Treasures await... Collect hidden treasures to reach new heights. Try taking a dive off the mountain peaks to soar above the forests.

🧭 The friends we made along the way... Chat with the other hikers you meet along your route. You might be able to help each other out!

🍃 The beautiful score... Listen to a lush original soundtrack by Mark Sparling that progresses dynamically as you explore the wilderness.
