The Independent Games Festival organizers (part of the CMP Game Group, as is Gamasutra) have reminded interested voters that GameSpot's 2006 IGF Audience Award will close on March 17th, meaning a limited amount of remaining time to join the public vote on the best IGF finalist. Many of the demo versions of the acclaimed PC indie titles which have become IGF finalists are available for download for the first time. The overall winner which receives the most votes will receive a $2,500 prize and the IGF Audience Award for 2006. In addition, details on IGF's inaugural Modding Competition and noted Student Showcase finalists are also featured on GameSpot, with information on each of the titles and links to download versions of the games, which are not part of the voting for this particular award. The winner of the Audience Award will be revealed alongside the other award winners at the IGF Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, March 22nd at the San Jose Civic Auditorium during the 2006 Game Developers Conference. More information on the finalists is available at the official IGF website.
