Rainbow Studios Veterans Form 2XL Games

Former Rainbow Studios chairman Earl Jarred and vice chairman Jeff Padden, together with fellow Rainbow Studios employees Rick Baltman and Robb Rinard, have announced that they have formed a new independent game studio named 2XL Games. Previously famous for titles such as Motocross Madness and ATV Offroad Fury, Rainbow Studios was purchased by THQ in November 2001. 2XL Games, like Rainbow Studios, is based in Phoenix, Arizona and the new company is already working on its first title. "We are very excited about the creation of 2XL Games," said Baltman, former lead technology programmer for Rainbow Studios. "We plan to break new ground by integrating graphics, physics and animation in original, creative ways."
