Independent Games Festival media sponsor and North American game publisher Moondance Games has released its officially IGF-sanctioned PC game compilation IG: Independent Games Volume 2, which features several titles previously featured in the Independent Games Festival. Previously IGF-entered games featured on the compilation include full versions of Invadazoid, Morning's Wrath, Dodge That Anvil!, Ocular Ink, Palette, and Cute Knight / Kishi Kawaii, which won Game Tunnel's award for RPG of the Year. Altogether, the collection includes 21 separate titles across a breadth of genres. The IG: Independent Games Volume 2 compilation, which retails for $19.95, also includes contributions from developers such as 21-6 Productions, Cornutopia Software and Large Animal Games, and is expected to be available for purchase from online, as well as from traditional retail outlets. “While AAA publishers make fantastic games, those games are often just slight variations on an existing product, which leaves players with little more than a recycled game,” said Moondance Games president Brian Kingsley. “Indie developers have the freedom to create a radically new title they believe in and release them when they feel ready - not when they are pressured to release it.”
