Jason Hall Leaves WB, Replaced By Monolith's Ryan

Officials from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced that Monolith CEO Samantha Ryan is to become the division’s new SVP of development, replacing Monolith co-founder Jason Hall, who is leaving to head his own production company.
Officials from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) have announced that Samantha Ryan is to become the division’s new senior vice president of development & production, replacing Monolith co-founder Jason Hall, who is leaving to head his own production company. Hall has served as senior vice president at WBIE since its founding in 2004, but will now front his own wholly owned video game and film production company named HDFilms Inc. HDFilms Inc. furthers its existing relationship with the Studio via an overall first-look development deal for videogames and feature films. In this role, Hall will serve as executive producer of key WBIE videogame titles and will continue to shepherd pre-existing and new HDFilms’ projects in development for Warner Bros. Pictures. Prior to joining WBIE in 2004, Hall was CEO and co-founder of No One Lives Forever and F.E.A.R. developer Monolith for ten years. Previously, he managed the multimedia department at Edmark Corporation and worked as a lead engineer at Broderbund Software. His experience also includes music composition and audio engineering. Ryan is also a veteran of Monolith, which Warner Bros. acquired in August 2004, and will continue to serve as the developer’s CEO as she takes on her new role at WBIE. As such, Ryan will have general oversight of WBIE's development and production teams and be responsible for all of the company's games. "We're extremely fortunate to have Samantha take the helm at WBIE," said Tsujihara. "She has worked with us since Monolith was one of our important production studios and has continued to do so since we acquired the company."
