GameFly Charts Again See Spiderman 3 On Top

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending April 13, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. As was the case last week, Activision's upcoming video game adaptation of Spiderman 3 took top honors as the most requested game across all platforms among GameFly subscribers. Electronic Arts' upcoming Xbox 360 port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, expected to ship this May, ranked as the second most requested game for the service, while Nintendo's recently shipped Wii exclusive Super Paper Mario fell another spot from last week to claim the third spot on the overall chart. What follows is a break down of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Nintendo Wii 1. Super Paper Mario (Nintendo), 2. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft), 3. Cooking Mama: Cook Off (Majesco), 4. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Nintendo) 5. Sonic and the Secret Rings (Sega) Once again it was Nintendo's Super Paper Mario that topped all other Wii requests for the week, while last week's second and third most requested Wii titles, Prince of Persia: Rival Swords and Cooking Mama: Cook Off, also retained their status. While anticipation for Activision's Spiderman 3 kept the upcoming movie adaptation ahead of the pack on the Xbox 360, the week saw a building excitement for EA's port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, which moved up a couple spots to the take second place on the weekly chart. PlayStation 3 1. F.E.A.R. (Vivendi), 2. Spiderman 3 (Activision) 3. MLB 07: The Show (Sony), 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (Disney Interactive Studios), 5. The Godfather: The Don's Edition (Electronic Arts). The latest port of Vivendi's F.E.A.R. was found to be the most requested PlayStation 3 title for the week, while last week's top title, Motorstorm, fell a dramatic five spots to the charts sixth position. Disney's movie adaptation for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End also surged ahead, landing in the fourth position on the week's console-specific chart. PlayStation 2 1. God of War II (Sony), 2. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 3. TMNT (Ubisoft), 4. Medal of Honor: Vanguard (Electronic Arts), 5. Bully (Take Two). PlayStation 2 requests were again dominated by Sony's mythological action spic God of War II, while other chart mainstays Spiderman 3, TMNT, and Medal of Honor: Vanguard continued to prove popular among GameFly subscribers. Xbox 1. Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi), 2. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 3. Destroy All Humans! 2 (THQ), 4. Family Guy - Video Game! (Take Two) 5. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo). While last week Microsoft's Halo 2 was nowhere to be seen among Xbox requests, this week the popular first-person shooter resurfaced in the number two position, topped only by Vivendi's Scarface. THQ's Destroy All Humans! 2 also managed to drift into a low orbit on the chart, abducting the chart's third position. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 3. Mario Party 7, 4. Mario Kart: Double Dash, 5. Disney's Meet the Robinsons. Titles published by Nintendo dominated the GameCube chart this week, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ranking above all other requests for the platform. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, riding a wave of excitement no doubt driven by the game's Wii-exclusive sequel, ranked second among all GameCube requests for the week. Nintendo DS 1. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Pearl (Nintendo), 3. Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (Square Enix), 4. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (D3P), 5. Spectrobes (Disney Interactive). The Nintendo DS chart remained more or less static from last week, with the top two positions still occupied by Nintendo's Pokemon franchise (though again Pearl and Diamond swapped spots). Spectrobes fell into the fifth position for the week, while D3P's unique Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords climbed up a spot to take fourth. Game Boy Advance 1. Final Fantasy VI Advance (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Emerald (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon Fire Red (Nintendo), 4. Dogz 2 (Ubisoft), 5. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo). Pokemon releases continued to dominate the Game Boy Advance chart this week, with three titles occupying the handheld's top five weekly requests. Not to be outdone, Square Enix and Nintendo's Final Fantasy VI Advance moved up a spot from last week, taking the top spot on the chart. PlayStation Portable 1. 300: March to Glory (Eidos), 2. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft) 3. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Sony), 4. Rainbow Six Vegas, 5. Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai Another Road (Atari). Finally, PSP requests were once again topped by Eidos' movie adaptation of 300, a game that has continued to dominate the portable's chart for the last several weeks in a row. Much of the chart remained unchanged from last week, with notable exceptions coming from Rainbow Six Vegas, which pulled into the fourth position, and Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai Another Road, which rounded out the top five requests for the PSP.
