Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Fox Interactive and Vivendi Universal Games announced an agreement under which VU Games will publish and distribute all Fox Interactive games currently in development and not subject to existing distribution agreements.
The deal, which includes titles from ten different franchises, including The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and X-Files, expands an existing co-publishing deal between the two companies that was announced in 2001. The agreement also gives VU Games the sequel rights to a number of titles. The Fox group will function as a separate development team within VU Games to oversee and manage the new titles. The group joins VU Games’ existing portfolio of publishing labels which includes Black Label Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Coktel, Knowledge Adventure, NDA Productions, Sierra Entertainment and Universal Interactive. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Specific titles included under the agreement will be announced by VU Games shortly.
