In an effort to make the Game Boy Advance handheld system playable during long car trips, Visteon Corp. has added Nintendo's best-selling portable device to its Dockable Family Entertainment System of in-vehicle video entertainment. The system is the first video game console to be compatible with Visteon's system, which also plays DVD movies and music CDs on its video screens. The new Dockable Family Entertainment Systems with GBA compatibility also come with wireless game controllers, allowing Game Boy Advance games to be played from the back seat without wires cluttering the car. The system also enables GBA users to link up with one another with a port for the GBA link cable. "Many consumers use the Dockable Family Entertainment System as an effective 'backseat babysitter' during road trips and daily commutes," said Visteon VP Greg Gyllstrom. "The system also offers superior versatility and true OEM-grade performance. This next-generation system enhances the consumer experience in all respects." "This system appeals to a growing audience that spans virtually all age categories," Gyllstrom said. "In-vehicle video and gaming can help make any trip more enjoyable, both for the driver and passengers."
