The Strategic Research Institute has announced the Video Game Investor Conference, to be held from September 19 to 20 at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. According to the organizers, this high-level event is intended to twin executives from the video game and investment communities to share perspectives on growing investment opportunities, current strategic trends and challenges facing the multiplayer Internet-based video game and the wireless/mobile game industry today. The event include high-level panels such as 'Picking the Winners' and 'Exit Options' with executives from Electronic Arts, PlayFirst, Gamehouse, WildTangent, Massive Inc, and In-Fusio, and venture capital-related representatives from Granite Global Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and Apax Partners. Other media-led talks include Dean Takahashi of the San Jose Mercury News, on 'I Don't Get It: Why Is It So *&@#$% Hard to Finance Video Games?', and Jamil Moledina of the Game Developers Conference on 'Investing & Next Generation Consoles', and there will also be a rapid fire 'speed dating' session in which registered companies present for 5 minutes to top gaming venture capitalists, investment bankers and other senior members of the investment community.
