Vicon Motion Systems, an optical motion capture solutions developer, announced its acquisition of House of Moves, a Los Angeles, Calif.-based motion capture studio. Vicon company literature referred to its new property as a “test-bed” to leverage the business. House of Moves has produced work for games such as GoldenEye 007, James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing, and Red Dead Revolver. Although the merge was official today, the companies have had a “synergistic relationship” since 1996, according to chief executive of Vicon Julian Morris. Additionally, Vicon officials are touting a new suite of real-time optical motion capture systems dubbed Vicon MX, which features the MX40, a 4 million-pixel motion capture camera.
