Representatives from Ubisoft have announced that the company has purchased Wolfpack Studios for an undisclosed amount. The Texas based studio is most famous for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Shadowbane, which is published by the French company. Ubisoft MD Gilles Langourieux has indicated that that, “The acquisition of Wolfpack takes our strategy in the ... massively multiplayer online games segment one step further as it strengthens our internal expertise. It will allow us to develop quality content under our own brands, which we feel is critical to succeed in the long run.” This follows the company's recent decision not to co-publish MMORPG The Matrix Online.
