In a busy week for the company, officials from Turbine Entertainment have announced the purchase of massively multiplayer online game franchise Asheron’s Call from Microsoft Game Stuidos. The company was the original creator of the first Asheron's Call and still provides episodic updates to it. The franchise transfer includes all of the game's intellectual properties, including all previously released titles in the series. The complete change of ownership is expected to take nearly a year, with Microsoft eventually transferring all of the services, including testing, customer service and billing services. The company no doubt made the purchase as a result of the $18 million extra funding it acquired on Monday.
