Developer Transgaming has announced that has acquired the rights to bring Infinite Interactive's cult hit Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords to Mac via its Cider Portability Engine, and is now available for download. The Game Developers Choice Awards nominated title has previously been released on nearly every platform including PC, DS, PSP, Wii, PS2, Xbox Live Arcade, and mobile phones, and has proven a surprise cult success. The title has been released for download via digital distribution site gametreeonline.com. TransGaming's Cider engine, which acts as a 'wrapper' to make PC titles playable on Intel-based Macs, will also be used to bring Spore and Call of Duty 4 to the platform, and has previously ported EA titles including Harry Potter, Madden, Tiger Woods, Need for Speed and Battlefield 2142. Said Transgaming CEO Vikas Gupta, "The partnership established by TransGaming to bring Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords to Mac consumers is another example of TransGaming's leadership in the gaming industry and how we are bringing some of the greatest and most compelling content to Mac gamers. Puzzle Quest is sure to delight the Mac audience and we are also excited about several new initiatives this Spring that will continue to change the landscape of Mac gaming and make it easier then ever for Mac consumers to enjoy the games they love."
