Toby Gard, the man – along with artist Paul Douglas – credited with the creation of Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series, has joined US development studio Crystal Dynamics to work as senior designer on the next Tomb Raider title. The move follows the collapse of Gard’s Confounding Factor studio in England, after the commercial failure of the long delayed Galleon. Publishers Eidos passed development duties on the Tomb Raider franchise from English studio Core Design to Crystal Dynamics after the critical mauling, and disappointing sales, of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. This will be the first Tomb Raider title Gard has worked on since the original game. Source: TotalVideoGames.com
