Representatives from THQ Wireless have announced that the company, a wholly owned subsidiary of publisher THQ, has purchased a controlling interest in mobile applications and billing experts MINICK. The move creates one of the world’s largest mobile entertainment content providers. According to Tim Walsh, president of THQ, "This venture gives THQ Wireless one of the largest direct-to-consumer billing and distribution network solutions in the world, building on our strength as a turnkey solution for consumers, carriers and device manufacturers alike." Both companies have been partners for two years, with THQ holding a 25% stake in MINICK and the move will see no alteration to either company’s management team or existing expansion plans Source: THQ
