THQ Appoints New VP Of Business Development

Representatives from major publisher THQ have announced the appointment of Timothy Campbell as the company's new vice president of business development. In his new role, Campbell will build publishing relationships with independent development teams, as well as work to expand THQ's internal global studios. Campbell joined THQ in 2004 as the company's director of business development. In this role, he helped drive THQ's game development efforts, as well as led the acquisitions of Kaos Studios and Vigil Games, as well as the acquisition of the Stuntman franchise from Atari. Campbell also played an instrumental role in obtaining THQ's rights to publish Gas Powered Games' upcoming PC strategy game Supreme Commander. Before joining THQ, Campbell held business development positions with Atari and Sammy Studios, as well as licensing positions with Infogrames' North American branch. As THQ's vice president of business development, Campbell will report to Gary Rosenfeld, senior vice president of business development. "Tim's proven abilities to recognize innovative, new properties, the most talented development teams, and valuable core technologies have been critical to building our content portfolio since he joined THQ in 2004," commented Rosenfeld. "In his new role, Tim will have the opportunity to apply these skills on a worldwide level as THQ continues to seek publishing opportunities with top external development teams across all next generation platforms and the PC."
